The Kiwis have won a number of medals at World Championship and World Cup
competitions and are often placed near the top of the rankings.
Historically, the volume of competitors in New Zealand has
been relatively low, but the quality of competitors is high. The popularity
of the sport and number of competitive teams has been diminishing recently.
